Wellington Wine, Food & Craft Beer Festival 2017

Wellington-based foodies will be spoiled for choice this March.
For Wellingtonian foodies, it doesn't get much better than the annual Wine, Food & Craft Beer Festival.
Foodies from all over the city are expected to flock to Wellington Waterfront's Waitangi Park to celebrate the best local brewers, wine producers and culinary maestros that the capital has to offer.
In keeping with previous years, festival-goers can expect the full immersive foodie experience, with 11 of Wellington’s top restaurants showcasing six of their favourite menu items and more than 30 local wines on offer to sample and savour over two days.
With festivities scheduled to kick off on Friday, March 10, punters will be treated to a variety of entertainment acts, including local bands from in and around the region. With spot prizes and even a mocktail bar on offer, this two-day festival is not to be missed.
For more festival information or to book one of three separate festival sessions, see the Wellington Wine, Food & Craft Beer Festival website here.

We start by sharing what’s on the dish team’s radar, what we’re watching, listening to and reading. Harry Butterfield puts a twist on his Nonna’s agnolotti, Malissa Fedele reminds us of the importance of fibre, and Phoebe Holden fulfils a long-held dream, sitting down with Yotam Ottolenghi. Autumn is an abundant time, we make the most with pumpkin, kūmara, cabbage, cauliflower, feijoas, apples and pears. We’re dishing up dinners for two, including a Chicken Dumpling Lasagne, alongside easy weeknight meals. We honour our mums, revisit timeless classics, and add a little baking challenge. This issue, we encourage you to slow down, to enjoy writing your shopping list, and spending time in the kitchen. Because even when life feels relentless, there’s always space to share something delicious.
