At the Miele Chef's Table Series with Kim Evans, Little and Friday

Little and Friday's Kim Evans delighted Dish guests with a selection of savoury and sweet treats to savour.
Creating meals from her third cookbook, Every Meal, Kim Evan’s from Little and Friday hosted two cooking demonstrations at the Miele showrooms in Auckland, offering tips and tricks on how to prepare a delicious three-course meal, including a show-stopping Chocolate Ginger Mousse Cake.
The renowned Auckland baker joked that the success of her business was due in large to the notoriety of her doughnuts. She shared lively insights on how to get the best results from the recipes with Miele appliances saying, “Playing with the Miele ovens made the whole experience so easy especially the proving function for my crumpets.”
The inclusive evening saw 14 guests share Kim’s food around a dining table, perfectly matched with Opawa and Nautilus Wines.
“I loved the interaction with the guests while I was cooking,” added Kim. “I had a fun night.”

We start by sharing what’s on the dish team’s radar, what we’re watching, listening to and reading. Harry Butterfield puts a twist on his Nonna’s agnolotti, Malissa Fedele reminds us of the importance of fibre, and Phoebe Holden fulfils a long-held dream, sitting down with Yotam Ottolenghi. Autumn is an abundant time, we make the most with pumpkin, kūmara, cabbage, cauliflower, feijoas, apples and pears. We’re dishing up dinners for two, including a Chicken Dumpling Lasagne, alongside easy weeknight meals. We honour our mums, revisit timeless classics, and add a little baking challenge. This issue, we encourage you to slow down, to enjoy writing your shopping list, and spending time in the kitchen. Because even when life feels relentless, there’s always space to share something delicious.
