Declan Cleary & Sarah Todd Serve Romance for National Barramundi Day

On Friday October 17th, our Australian friends will be celebrating National Barramundi Day, and MasterChef lovebirds Declan Cleary and Sarah Todd are at the heart of the festivities.
The real-life couple are bringing their passion for food to Bondi with a one-day-only Barra Love Shack pop-up, part seaside cook-up, part love story. Declan and Sarah will be creating each dish live, sharing their favourite ways to serve fresh Australian barramundi and swapping stories about what makes this fish such a national treasure. Visitors can drop in for tastings, grab exclusive recipes, and pick up tips on how to cook like a pro.
“Barramundi is more than a fish, it’s a national icon,” says Declan.
Sarah adds: “It’s about celebrating food, culture and connection, and falling in love with simple, fresh ingredients.”

At Barra Love Shack, the pair will be serving three different options, so if you’re Sydney-side, make sure you’re first in line at North Bondi Surf Club, Campbell Parade, from 1pm on October 17th because there's something for everyone on the menu.
And for our friends here in Aotearoa, New Zealand who can’t make it across the ditch, we’ve rounded up a few of our own fishy favourites below, so you can celebrate at home, Kiwi-style!

We start by sharing what’s on the dish team’s radar, what we’re watching, listening to and reading. Harry Butterfield puts a twist on his Nonna’s agnolotti, Malissa Fedele reminds us of the importance of fibre, and Phoebe Holden fulfils a long-held dream, sitting down with Yotam Ottolenghi. Autumn is an abundant time, we make the most with pumpkin, kūmara, cabbage, cauliflower, feijoas, apples and pears. We’re dishing up dinners for two, including a Chicken Dumpling Lasagne, alongside easy weeknight meals. We honour our mums, revisit timeless classics, and add a little baking challenge. This issue, we encourage you to slow down, to enjoy writing your shopping list, and spending time in the kitchen. Because even when life feels relentless, there’s always space to share something delicious.
