What's Inside?
Recipes

We’re welcoming the cooler months with cosy recipes to soothe the soul. This issue is packed with inspiration for all kinds of meals – whether you’re dining alone, as two or with a few. We start with our Plating Game interview with Jesse Mulligan which inspired a medley of curries and sides then move on to a round up of easy one-pan chicken dishes, a variety of pasta bakes and meatballs, and using one simple yet delicious tart base we whip up five filling options that are so good you’ll have them on high rotation. Sarah’s wintry faves include a moreish chorizo (not) carbonara, lamb and spinach filo pie plus tasty cauliflower fritters. Of course, we have sweet treats to bake and puddings to finish.
The Extras
We chat all things food with Kiwi Broadcaster, Jesse Mulligan in our latest edition of The Plating Game. Meanwhile, Tamsin tours the Bay of Plenty to find the current must-go foodie spots. And Drinks Editor, Yvonne, and her expert judges, round up the best big and bold Bordeaux reds in the country!

We start by sharing what’s on the dish team’s radar, what we’re watching, listening to and reading. Harry Butterfield puts a twist on his Nonna’s agnolotti, Malissa Fedele reminds us of the importance of fibre, and Phoebe Holden fulfils a long-held dream, sitting down with Yotam Ottolenghi. Autumn is an abundant time, we make the most with pumpkin, kūmara, cabbage, cauliflower, feijoas, apples and pears. We’re dishing up dinners for two, including a Chicken Dumpling Lasagne, alongside easy weeknight meals. We honour our mums, revisit timeless classics, and add a little baking challenge. This issue, we encourage you to slow down, to enjoy writing your shopping list, and spending time in the kitchen. Because even when life feels relentless, there’s always space to share something delicious.
