Rosé: Groundshakingly good to sip, no matter the season

Who said Rosé was intended just for the summer months?
The team at Smith & Sheth certainly don’t buy into this common misconception, releasing their very first CRU Rosé of Syrah on the first day of Autumn earlier this year.
This exciting new wine has been a project in the back of Master of Wine Steve Smith’s mind for a long time. Sourced entirely from Ian and Linda Quinn’s Mangatahi Syrah vineyard plus a handful of Viognier vines growing around their house, the grapes were hand-picked in the cool of the morning. Taking inspiration from the high-end wines of Provence, this is serious stuff – fine fruited, deliciously dry and textural, and very worthy of wearing the Cru livery.
dish Magazine Drinks Editor Yvonne Lorkin agrees, describing the Rosé of Syrah as a “unique style that boasts elevated florals and spice on the nose and a palate that’s plush, elegantly proportioned, stylishly dry and groundshakingly good to sip no matter the season.”
