The Foley Wine Club Drop of the Day

We’re bringing a moment of summer back to the table with Vavasour Rosé, perfectly partnered with Lime, Honey and Sriracha Roasted Salmon.
Vavasour’s 2019 Rosé is rosé at its finest. A pretty pale pink colour promises a bouquet of raspberry, creaming soda and rose petal with lifted strawberries and cream. A rich and full palate of fresh summer berries lead to a creamy, lingering finish with the Awatere Valley’s hallmark minerality.
Vavasour is the founding winery of Marlborough’s smaller, cooler-climate Awatere Valley. An intimate knowledge of this dramatic southern pocket of Marlborough rewards them with wines of extraordinary elegance, perfume and texture. Vavasour planted the first vines back in 1986 and right from the start, produced wines with intense layers of flavour and a unique presence that demanded international attention.
The Foley Wine Club is the home of Foley Wines – a collection of iconic wineries and brands from New Zealand’s most acclaimed wine regions. Each has a unique story to tell - their wineries are linked by a common unrelenting purpose; to make great wine that people love to drink around the world. They are the proud custodians of Vavasour (featured here today), Martinborough Vineyard, Lighthouse Gin, Grove Mill, Te Kairanga and Mt Difficulty.

We start by sharing what’s on the dish team’s radar, what we’re watching, listening to and reading. Harry Butterfield puts a twist on his Nonna’s agnolotti, Malissa Fedele reminds us of the importance of fibre, and Phoebe Holden fulfils a long-held dream, sitting down with Yotam Ottolenghi. Autumn is an abundant time, we make the most with pumpkin, kūmara, cabbage, cauliflower, feijoas, apples and pears. We’re dishing up dinners for two, including a Chicken Dumpling Lasagne, alongside easy weeknight meals. We honour our mums, revisit timeless classics, and add a little baking challenge. This issue, we encourage you to slow down, to enjoy writing your shopping list, and spending time in the kitchen. Because even when life feels relentless, there’s always space to share something delicious.
