Foley Wine Club Drop of the Day

With lamb the headline dish on many tables around New Zealand this Easter we have chosen to start our first Drop of the Day with the 2018 vintage of John Martin Pinot Noir.
It is a wonderful example of why the tiny wine village of Martinborough is famous the world over for its Pinot Noir. With an elegant bouquet of ripe fruits, exotic spices and finely seasoned oak leading to a full soft, flowing palate it is a perfect match for the Easter slow roast lamb with rosemary, garlic, & vine tomatoes. A pinot for pinot lovers.
Established in 1984, Te Kairanga is an important part of the Martinborough wine story. Their vines are planted on land that was originally owned by the founding father of Martinborough, John Martin. While their land is steeped in history, Te Kairanga's winemaking is very much focused on the future; “to fully realise the potential of this incredible piece of land,” according to Winemaker John Kavanagh.
The Foley Wine Club is the home of Foley Wines – a collection of iconic wineries and brands from New Zealand’s most acclaimed wine regions. Each has a unique story to tell - their wineries are linked by a common unrelenting purpose; to make great wine that people love to drink around the world. They are the proud custodians of Te Kairanga, (featured here today), Martinborough Vineyard, Lighthouse Gin, Grove Mill, Vavasour and Mt Difficulty.
