Drop of the Day - JOIY Savvy Society Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

JOIY’s very practical canned wine is ideal for New Zealanders who love the outdoors and adventure, and their fresh and zesty Sauvignon Blanc certainly ticks the flavour box too. We're pairing ours with Soy and Miso-Glazed Salmon.

This young and aromatic sav-in-a-can from JOIY is vibrant and fruity with hints of passionfruit. It's fresh and zesty, so it pairs well with any fish - particularly salmon to cut through the oiliness. The dish team are keen on pairing it with Sarah's Soy and Miso-Glazed Salmon, but it also works a treat with cream sauces, chicken or poached fish with fennel gratin!
Archer McRae Beverages was founded by Cath Hopkin and Chris Archer in 2011 to lead the wine industry in small format, convenient and quality wines. They craft wines that are highly awarded and specialise in attractive, convenient, small format and eco-friendly packaging. Natural winemaking, minimal intervention and sustainability are core values. Their commitment to sustainability includes the packaging. With innovation in technology, aluminium cans are now comparable to glass for respecting the wine and presenting premium wines in their best form as well as being 100% recyclable, environmentally friendly and carbon neutral.
The practicality of JOIY’s canned wine is ideal for New Zealanders who love the outdoors and adventure. Aluminium is lighter than glass and doesn’t bring the risk of broken glass in a backpack. It’s the perfect addition to a summer's day, allowing Kiwis to lounge on the beach, or hike up a mountain; enjoying New Zealand landscapes with a JOIY wine in hand. The Sauvignon Blanc is a great wine for spring, so it just makes sense that it is packaged in a recyclable slimline can that is perfect for enjoying at the beach, festivals, camping, BBQs, picnics or hikes.
At the New World Wine Awards 2019, JOIY Savvy Society Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc was recognised in the top 50 of more than 1,200 entries submitted by 176 wineries from New Zealand and overseas. The New World Wine Awards were judged by a panel of 17 independent wine experts and every entry was blind tasted, with only varietal, vintage and country of origin noted.
JOIY Savvy Society Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc also recieved a Gold Medal and Best in Show at the International Canned Wine Competition 2020, the only New Zealand wine in a can to win. JOIY was the 2nd highest awarded brand globally, the highest awarded Australasian based brand and the only NZ company, in a competition of 70 producers from 15 countries; from the canned wine capital of the world, California, to the old world of France to our antipodean cousins.
JOIY Savvy Society Sauvignon Blanc is $6.99 for a 250mL can and is available nationwide in supermarkets, liquor retail outlets and can also be purchased from www.joiy.co.nz.
