BE IN TO WIN 3 TICKETS TO THIS EPIC HOUSE TOUR

The Homes of Devonport house tour is back for one day only, after a Covid hiatus!
This popular event gives people the rare chance to step inside some of Auckland’s most spectacular homes.
The event is run by Devonport Rotary and Bayleys, with 100% of ticket sales going to three great charities – Dementia Auckland, Harbour Hospice and Rotary.
We have the chance for you to win three tickets, worth $80 each, to the event happening in November. It’s the perfect day out for you and two friends!
A heavenly converted church, award-winning spaces, architectural gems and modern masterpieces are among the 10 homes on display. Plus, there will be homemade Christmas treats on sale at some of the homes as well as sought-after goodie bags.

Annie O’Donnell and David McQueen are among the Devonport homeowners opening their house for the event. The couple have a personal connection to hospice after both losing their spouses to cancer in 2013. O’Donnell’s family was supported by Harbour Hospice, and she wants to give back to the charity.
“I cannot thank hospice enough for their incredible support during such a difficult time,” says O’Donnell. “It has taken a bit of work preparing our home for the event, but it is all worth it to support hospice.”
Previously known as the Fine Homes Tour of Devonport, this year’s event is bigger and better than ever before.
Homes of Devonport organiser and Bayleys real estate agent Lynda Betts says the tour includes some of the most spectacular homes she has seen in her 20 years selling property in the seaside suburb. Each home will also have a beautiful Christmas display.

“These 10 unique and stylish homes are a must see. Whether you’re looking for interior inspiration and renovation tips or just wanting to have a nosey, this is not to be missed,” says Betts.
“We sadly had to cancel the last tour we had planned due to Covid, so we are thrilled to see this fun day out return, all in support of three very worthy causes.”
The Homes of Devonport tour is on Friday 4th November. For more information head to www.homesofdevonport.co.nz

We start by sharing what’s on the dish team’s radar, what we’re watching, listening to and reading. Harry Butterfield puts a twist on his Nonna’s agnolotti, Malissa Fedele reminds us of the importance of fibre, and Phoebe Holden fulfils a long-held dream, sitting down with Yotam Ottolenghi. Autumn is an abundant time, we make the most with pumpkin, kūmara, cabbage, cauliflower, feijoas, apples and pears. We’re dishing up dinners for two, including a Chicken Dumpling Lasagne, alongside easy weeknight meals. We honour our mums, revisit timeless classics, and add a little baking challenge. This issue, we encourage you to slow down, to enjoy writing your shopping list, and spending time in the kitchen. Because even when life feels relentless, there’s always space to share something delicious.
