Dine with Dish: Yealands at The George

Join us for a very special night of fine dining alongside perfectly matched wines with Yealands Estate in Pescatore at The George.
The evening will be hosted by Dish editor Vanessa Marshall and Yealands chief winemaker Jeff Fyfe, who will guide diners through the food and wine matches. The canapés and four-course menu will be designed and executed by The George's Executive Chef Darren Conole. Each course will be matched with a premium selection of Yealands Estate wines.
Having grown up in Marlborough, Yealands' chief winemaker Jeff is the perfect person to understand the unique terroir of the Awatere Valley, Marlborough’s southernmost valley where the Yealands Estate Winery is located.
Experienced in both local and international vintages, Jeff joined the award-winning Yealands Wine Group in 2009. Dedicated to redefining the boundaries of excellence, he now leads the Yealands team as chief winemaker. Jeff relishes the new opportunities that each vintage brings, to capture the distinctive qualities of exceptional fruit, transformed into beautiful wines.

We start by sharing what’s on the dish team’s radar, what we’re watching, listening to and reading. Harry Butterfield puts a twist on his Nonna’s agnolotti, Malissa Fedele reminds us of the importance of fibre, and Phoebe Holden fulfils a long-held dream, sitting down with Yotam Ottolenghi. Autumn is an abundant time, we make the most with pumpkin, kūmara, cabbage, cauliflower, feijoas, apples and pears. We’re dishing up dinners for two, including a Chicken Dumpling Lasagne, alongside easy weeknight meals. We honour our mums, revisit timeless classics, and add a little baking challenge. This issue, we encourage you to slow down, to enjoy writing your shopping list, and spending time in the kitchen. Because even when life feels relentless, there’s always space to share something delicious.
