Ahoy Cider Champs! Our readers LOVE cider, so we at dish are fizzing at the bung to pop the tops, twist the caps and tear open the cans on the greatest-tasting examples available in all of ye olde New Zealand this Spring. So, let’s get cracking! If you’re a local producer, or an importer of international styles, we want to see them.
We’re looking for modern and traditional ciders, fruit and fruit infused ciders, pear ciders, spice and botanical-blended ciders, fortified and ice ciders and everything in between.
Our team of highly experienced, senior judges will assess them in a blind tasting at EIT in Hawke’s Bay on Friday 11th July with results being published in Issue 123 of dish, on sale 8th September 2025.
All ciders entered must be available for purchase as at 8 September 2025. This tasting is open to packaged cider only – NO keg-only entries
All entries must be received online by 5PM Friday July 4th.
Samples must arrive at Yvonne’s place by Tuesday 8th July 2025.
Due to a tight timeframe, no late entries will be accepted. So get a wriggle on!
TWO bottles/cans of EACH cider entered will need to be couriered to:
