Fine Dining Loosens its Tie on Sundays and Mondays

Auckland restaurants Baduzzi and The Grove give us no excuse to stay in on Sundays and Mondays, with new 'fun dining' options
Restauranteur Michael Dearth has earned a reputation for transforming the Auckland food scene since fine dining institution, The Grove, opened in 2004. With a tasting menu of $240, eating at The Grove is for many reserved for special occasions, but since June this year he's transformed the scene once again. Now alongside the regular offerings, diners can choose from ten dishes to create a miniature five-course tasting menu, accompanied by a glass of Moet champagne for only $55, making Mondays something to look forward to.
Of note too is The Grove's Italian cousin, Baduzzi, which has introduced a family-friendly feature on Sundays - a scooter obstacle course along Fish Lane. Between 2pm and 4pm guests can drink a glass of wine or a cold Peroni in the winter sun, whilst the children happily spend the afternoon whizzing around the track.
