Foley Wine Club Drop of the Day

The Mt Difficulty Chenin Blanc is a perfect match for a luscious Pear Tarte Tatin.
With an off-dry-almost-medium style, Mt Difficulty Long Gully Chenin Blanc is a perennial favourite. Aromas of honeysuckle and peach are mirrored in a rich, ethereal palate with an elegant backbone. Sourced only from Mt Difficulty’s Long Gully vineyard in Bannockburn, this wine is made in limited quantities. We’d recommend serving it alongside this twist on the classic Tarte Tatin, made with pears.
Bannockburn is the home of Mt Difficulty, and part of their uniqueness stems from this namesake mountain, under which a particular microclimate can be found. The area is at the southern end of the Cromwell Basin, has a narrow range of heat summation, large diurnal shifts, and long, cool, dry Autumns. It is because of this that their wines show a true reflection of place.
